Wanaka Rowing Club rows on Lake Wanaka from a lakeside boatshed in Wanaka, with its address at 59 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road. The club was formed in 2007 by a group of local parents, rowers, coaches and supporters, and started with seven rowers.
It runs four programmes: a Juniors squad for school-age rowers who train several times a week and race at regattas, a Masters squad for adults aged 27 and over, a six-week Juniors Learn to Row programme, and a Masters Learn to Row programme for adult beginners and returning rowers.
Masters crews race at regattas across the South Island and take part in long-distance endurance rows. The club bought a new coach boat in 2013 with support from the Olive and Graham West Trust.
At the 2026 Maadi Cup a Wanaka boys under 18 novice double won silver.
