About this club

Milton Keynes Rowing Club is based at Caldecotte Lake in Milton Keynes. The club was created in 1995 after its founders surveyed Caldecotte, Furzton and Willen lakes and selected Caldecotte as the prospective rowing venue.

A newspaper invitation in September 1995 brought about ten interested people to a meeting at the Caldecotte Arms. The group elected officers, sought Amateur Rowing Association affiliation, adopted colours and a constitution, and joined the Caldecotte Watersports Association to secure water access.

The rowing club shares the watersports centre with sailing and canoe clubs. Its published account describes access to a boathouse, gym, fleet and the lake, with regular training sessions through the week.

The current club welcomes adult and junior rowers and provides routes for beginners, recreational members and competitive crews. It also stages Regatta MK on Caldecotte Lake.

Its honours record includes a women's masters four gold at the 2022 World Rowing Masters Regatta. In 2025, club members were part of a composite women's masters eight that won gold at the same world event, alongside British masters medals that year.

The current site uses Milton Keynes Rowing Club as the full formal name, with MK Rowing as a shorter brand. Companies House lists the registered address as Watersports Centre, Monellan Grove, Caldecotte, Milton Keynes, MK7 8BH.
