Marlow Rowing Club is based at Marlow Bridge Lane beside the River Thames. Its official address is Marlow, Buckinghamshire, SL7 1RH, while the boathouse is on the southern bank of the river opposite the town and on the reach above Marlow Lock.

Crews used the Marlow Rowing Club name before the formal foundation, which took place at a meeting on 16 May 1871. The club won the Town Challenge Cup for fours at Henley Royal Regatta in 1872, then won it four more times between 1874 and 1877 and again when the event was last raced in 1883.

A major fire on 3 August 2011 destroyed the 1896 clubhouse beyond repair, including two boat bays and some historic material. The club resumed racing within three days. Its replacement clubhouse opened in 2015, and the club now reports more than 500 members, a large fleet and a gym.

Marlow offers development, junior, senior, masters, para and adaptive, recreational and young-veteran routes. Its programme covers beginners through to elite rowers, and the development squad combines sculling and sweep rowing with preparation for local competition.

The club has a long international record. Sir Steve Redgrave, its president, won five Olympic gold medals and one bronze, while club history also records world titles for Gillian Lindsay in 1998 and for Alex Beever, Lisa Eyre and Sue Walker in 1997. Gillian Lindsay and Katherine Grainger were part of Britain's silver-medal eight at the 2000 Olympics, and Naomi Riches won Paralympic gold and bronze.

Marlow organises Marlow Spring Regatta and Marlow Town Regatta and contributes to other rowing events. The club says its members collect between 80 and 140 wins in an average year across local, national and international competition.
