Brisbane & GPS Rowing Club rows on the tidal Brisbane River from 98-108 Hill End Terrace, West End. The current club combines the histories of Brisbane Rowing Club and GPS Old Boys Rowing Club.

Brisbane Rowing Club was officially opened in 1875, while the Breakfast Creek Rowing Club branch of its history began in 1885. GPS Old Boys was founded in 1925. Membership losses and wartime disruption led the two organisations to merge in 1947.

Before the merger, GPS supplied five rowers, the coxswain and coach to Queensland's 1939 King's Cup crew. Dick Scott became its first international in 1938, when selected as reserve for Australia's British Empire Games eight.

The merged club won the Queensland champion eights race in 1948 and held that title for three consecutive years from 1965 to 1967. A 1970 fire destroyed its North Quay boatshed and racing fleet, and the 1974 flood later swept away its temporary Emmanuel College base.

Today's programs include adult learn-to-row, junior girls through under-19, competitive masters, recreational rowing and a high-performance women's squad for athletes aged 20 and over. The club also records Australian under-19 and under-23 representatives among former high-performance members.

At a reported national campaign, members represented Queensland in the Queen's Cup, Victoria Cup and Bicentennial Trophy crews. The same club report records three gold, four silver and three bronze medals at the NSW Championships and eight gold medals at the Queensland State Masters Championships.
