About this club
Brisbane Rowing Club is the current successor to Tattersalls Rowing Club at 150 Jane Street, West End, on the Brisbane River. The current club describes itself as a small Masters club for beginners, social rowers and competitive athletes.
Tattersalls Rowing Club was established in 2002. It moved to the Rowing Queensland shed at West End in 2017, and Brisbane Rowing Club's own timeline says the new body incorporated and replaced Tattersalls in 2018.
The same official page describes Brisbane Rowing Club as founded in April 2019. That differs from its 2018 timeline entry, so both dates are retained as published rather than resolved by inference.
The successor opened its executive positions to all genders. Its present membership is mainly Masters in their forties through seventies and includes beginners, returning rowers, social members and competitors at local, state, national and international level.
Programs include an eight-session learn-to-row course, a short Return to Row refresher, coached social rowing and training for local, state and national Masters regattas. The club lists short-course regattas and Head of the Yarra among events it regularly attends.
Brisbane Rowing Club also raises tax-deductible Australian Sports Foundation donations for equipment. Its club page identifies a head coach and a separate learn-to-row coach for the current program.
