Canberra Girls Grammar School Boat Club is the school's rowing programme on Lake Burley Griffin. Rowing ACT's history uses the Boat Club name for the current organisation and identifies Yhuuramulum, beside the Elizabeth McKay Aquatic Centre, as its dedicated lake facility.

The programme began in 1972 from Canberra Grammar School's boathouse. In that first year the school won the Schoolgirl Four at the Australian National Championships, then represented the ACT in the Australian Fours Championship as the only all-schoolgirl crew in the event.

Rowing became a full school sport in 1992, after operating as a co-curricular activity. The school bought its first quad scull in 1993, completed the Elizabeth McKay Aquatic Centre in March 1996 and opened Yhuuramulum in January 2018. Rowing ACT says the fleet grew from one quad in 1996 to more than 50 boats by 2025.

The school describes rowing as one of its strongest co-curricular programmes, with coaching and training for competition at the highest levels of schoolgirl rowing. At the 2025 Australian Rowing Championships, CGGS won its first gold in an open school event, taking the Schoolgirl Coxed Quad title.

A separate school report records a national silver in the Schoolgirl Quad, sixth in the Under 17 Eight and fifth in the Open Double, with every CGGS boat reaching an A final. The Australian Sports Foundation also records the club's first planned Henley Royal Regatta campaign after its national coxed-quad title.
