About this club
Endeavour Rowing Club is based on the Hunter River at 273 Duckenfield Road, Berry Park, about three kilometres from Morpeth. It welcomes adults and juniors aged 14 to 18 for rowing on Sunday mornings, with Learn to Row as the entry route for new and inexperienced rowers.
The idea grew from Hunter Valley Grammar School's rowing programme, which moved to Berry Park in 1995. The school board approved a community club for non-school rowers in November 1997, and Endeavour was formally established at an inaugural meeting on 10 May 1998 with 11 members.
The club built its own boatshed after the school acquired additional land in 2000, transferring its boats there in July 2001. Endeavour then became independent in November 2003 when it bought out its lease with Hunter Valley Grammar School.
Membership covers Learn to Row, full membership and boat-racking arrangements. The club accepts rowers across experience and ability levels, while new applicants complete a formal application and a three-month probationary period.
Competition became part of the club from its first season, and its first regatta was granted for February 2000. In 2007/08 it recorded 54 race wins, its highest total in its first decade, while Craig Adlam won the Central Districts men's single sculler title and a NSW Sprint Championships silver.
The club attended 13 regattas for 38 wins in 2020/21 and finished that season with four Australian Masters gold medals. At the 2025 NSW Masters Championships, its squad won one gold, one silver and three bronze medals, including gold in the women's masters H double scull.
