Manning River Rowing Club rows from Endeavour Place in Taree, overlooking the Manning River. The club describes its home water as a 2,000-metre river course and provides recreational and competitive rowing across the Manning Valley.

The present club was formed on 25 October 1957 after an idea developed through the Manning River Aquatic Association. Its first novice crew included Ted Burke, Brian Hole, Allan Sawyer and Neville Saville; the first club regatta followed at the 1958 Aquatic Carnival, and the club recorded its first away win in 1959.

Manning River became a foundation member of the Central Districts Rowing Association. After eight years in a rented river shed and three years storing boats in a member's yard, it opened its own clubhouse in 1971.

Current programmes include Learn to Row, recreational rowing and separate junior, senior and masters competition pathways. Learn to Row runs on Saturday mornings using a dedicated training fleet and a six-week introductory membership.

Senior and junior active members receive supervised access to club equipment, training programmes, in-house competition and volunteer coaching. Competitive pathways cover CDRA and Rowing NSW events, with opportunities for eligible rowers to progress to NSW and Australian championship regattas.

The club helps stage the three-day Taree Summer Regatta. In 2026 the event attracted more than 500 athletes, scheduled 91 events and 171 races, and produced 18 Manning wins; the event has run on the Manning River for more than 20 years.
