Murwillumbah Rowing Club rows from 33 Tumbulgum Road on the Tweed River. Its own history describes a 2,000-metre course suitable for regattas and places the club only minutes from Murwillumbah town centre.

The organisation began in 1902 as Tweed River Rowing Club. After repeated challenges that included flooding, it was re-established as Murwillumbah Rowing Club in 1976. A new purpose-built clubhouse was completed for the 1999/2000 season and used as a training base by the Sydney Olympic rowing team.

The club caters for social and competitive rowing. Its membership is predominantly masters, but its published offer also includes school rowing and Learn to Row courses open to all ages.

Learn to Row includes at least eight sessions. The course covers club and facility orientation, shell and oar types, the rowing sequence on an ergometer, safe boat handling, water-safety rules, on-water practice and cleaning boats and oars. Places are scheduled as enquiries fill a course.

The club's news records a new access ramp opened with support from the NSW Office of Sport and Tweed Shire Council. The same news page reports an honourable mention in the Tweed Shire Australia Day Awards for the club's performance at the Australian Masters.

Murwillumbah also runs Head of the Tweed, which returned in 2025 after a five-year break. The 2026 event accepts rowing boats, kayaks, dragon boats and surf boats, while a separate club regatta returned in November 2024 with junior, senior and masters racing across all boat classes.
