Nepean Rowing Club operates its rowing programme from the boatshed on Bruce Neale Drive in Penrith. The club says it has provided community rowing opportunities since 1928 and caters for rowers at different ages and skill levels.

Its pathway runs from learn-to-row through to elite competition. New rowers can book 60-minute group sessions at the boatshed, with no obligation to join, and participants aged 12 and over can start during the year when sessions are operating.

The club handbook describes a main boatshed beside the licensed club and a gym available to competing members. The gym supports off-water training with strength and conditioning equipment and rowing ergs.

Club coaching is delivered by volunteers under a Rowing Coordinator. Programmes are structured around members' goals, while the club also seeks support for boats, oars, maintenance equipment and travel to competition.

Nepean organises its own head races and indoor rowing activity, with the 2025 calendar listing Nepean Head events, the NSW Indoor Rowing Championships and Australian Indoor Rowing Championships. A 2020 annual report also records the club becoming the first three-time consecutive winner of the Linwood Throsby Gift relay.
