Port Macquarie Rowing Club is based at 68A Hibbard Drive on the Hastings River in Port Macquarie. The incorporated club is affiliated with the Central Districts Rowing Association and Rowing NSW.

It began in 1972 as Hastings River Rowing Club, using a regulation four loaned by Manning River Rowing Club. Members built a shed on council land beside the Hastings River and ran an annual regatta over the June long weekend.

The organisation became Port Macquarie RSL Club Rowing Club in 1983. After the club went into recession in 1984 and returned its shed keys to the council, Jim Young and Paul McReynolds reformed it as Port Macquarie Rowing Club.

The club ran NSW and CDRA regattas on the Hastings River until 1993, moved racing to the Wilson River at Telegraph Point in 1994, and established an 800-metre CDRA course on the Hastings River at Wauchope in 2011. Its last recorded CDRA regatta returned to Port Macquarie in 2018.

Current weekly activity includes general rowing, ergometer and weights sessions, school rowing by arrangement, Saturday coaching and Learn to Row for juniors and adults, and Sunday social rowing. New members and visitors can row recreationally or race in competition.

The club hosts the Hastings River Mini Marathon. Its 2026 event was announced as the 4 Bridges mini marathon, with a 20-kilometre course from Wauchope to Port Macquarie. At its 2024 annual awards, the club named two boats for Bob Hopley and Mick Watts.
