About this club
RedLegs Rowing Club is a mixed Masters club at Davies Park, 150 Jane Street, West End, on the Brisbane River. It shares the Rowing Queensland shed within the Jane Street rowing complex.
A current sports directory dates the club to 1997 and says it was established to support Brisbane State High School. Queensland's sport department lists its legal entity, Redlegs Club Incorporated, as a rowing organisation in West End.
RedLegs accepts adults over 18, from complete beginners to experienced competitors. Its eight-week learn-to-row course covers technique, safety and equipment, while weekly Sunday social rows provide a recreational route into the club.
Competitive crews prepare for local and interstate Masters regattas throughout the year. The club's 2026 calendar includes the Brisbane & GPS Regatta and Queensland Masters Championships at Wyaralong Dam.
The club received Queensland disaster-recovery funding after the February and March 2022 rainfall and flooding to help re-establish rowing at West End. It later received Active Clubs funding for rowing equipment in the 2023-24 program.
RedLegs continues to recruit actively, with 2026 memberships open on its official site. Membership includes the club fee and mandatory Rowing Queensland and Rowing Australia registration and insurance charges.
