Somerset College Rowing is the current school rowing program associated with the stored Somerset Boat Club record. Rowing Queensland lists Somerset College among its present school programs, while a 2021 Somerset handbook describes Somerset Boat Club as the parents, alumni and supporter group.

A history published by Gold Coast Master Rowers says Somerset Boat Club was formed by 1999 and later relocated to Bond University. The present college program's boatshed is based on the Gold Coast canals from Bond University.

Somerset's program is for college students and is designed around personal responsibility, teamwork and mindfulness. The college says it uses regular monitoring, rowing equipment and experienced coaches to guide athletes through its pathway.

Students compete locally and at Queensland and Australian championships in boats ranging from single sculls to eights. Rowing Australia results record Somerset College crews at national championships, including an under-17 men's single sculler in 2011 and competitors in the 2021 Australian Rowing Championships.

In 2025, three Somerset athletes competed at the New South Wales State Championships and the school reported a bronze medal. Rowing Australia later selected Maddie McLaughlin, affiliated to Surfers Paradise Rowing Club and Somerset College, for its inaugural 2026 Under-19 Australia B team.

The program reports at events including Head of the Tweed and Wyaralong regattas. A 2022 club update also listed a Somerset Trophy Regatta, a fundraising trivia night and a Corporate Rowing Challenge among its activities.
