About this club

Sunshine Coast Rowing Club operates on the Maroochy River from Chambers Island, reached from Bradman Avenue in Maroochydore. The club's ABN is active and records its main business location in postcode 4558.

The club provides boats, beginner training and crew coaching. It supports recreational rowing for masters men and women as well as regular regatta competition against other Queensland clubs.

Its adult Introduction to Row programme normally runs twice a year. The four-week course covers technique, boat handling and water safety in small groups, followed by an eight-week transition period for people who join the club.

The club limits each beginner course to eight participants and uses volunteer coaches. It has access to changing rooms and toilets at Chambers Island, and participants must be able to swim 100 metres in rowing clothes.

A Sunshine Coast Council directory says the club offers rowing and friendship to teenagers and adults of all ages. An earlier federal grant record likewise describes competitive and recreational rowing for members of different ages and abilities.

Rowing Queensland's 2025 infrastructure submission identifies Chambers Island as the current facility and proposes relocating the club to Muller Park at Bli Bli. The submission calls for boat storage, training, changing and maintenance space to support future participation.
