Tweed Heads and Coolangatta Rowing Club rows from Boyd's Bay on Minjungbal Drive, Tweed Heads South. Its water is Terranora Inlet, just off the Tweed River, and the club welcomes junior, senior and Masters rowers for year-round rowing.

The club was formed as Tweed Heads and Coolangatta Amateur Rowing Club on 10 April 1946. Its early senior coxed four won five successive Queensland titles and finished second in the 1952 Olympic trials, while its women's crews won New South Wales and Queensland titles and three Australian titles.

Eight-oared rowing began at Tweed in 1954. The club won the state eight that year and for the next four years, with Tweed crews representing Queensland in the King's Cup from 1954 to 1958; its lightweight four also won five successive state titles and raced in the first Penrith Cup in 1958.

Shirley Graham became the first Tweed rower to represent Australia at a World Rowing Championships in 1972 and returned in 1973. After the club's sixth state premiership in 1972-73, it became a limited company and the rowing section adopted the Tweed Heads Rowing and Aquatic Club name, although the present active entity again uses Tweed Heads and Coolangatta Rowing Club.

A recent Tweed Shire strategy records about 50 members, including 30 juniors, and says the club has produced elite world champions and had two juniors rowing for Australia. The club attends Queensland and Northern Rivers points regattas, school events and state and national championships.

Its learn-to-row program guarantees eight supervised one-hour sessions, with adult and junior options. In 2019-20, New South Wales grants supported two double sculls for female rowers and travel to the state championships; in 2024 the club partnered Murwillumbah on a joint regatta.
