West Australian Rowing Club

West Australian Rowing Club rows from 171 Riverside Drive on the Swan River in central Perth. Founded in 1868, it describes itself as the state's oldest continuously operating rowing club.

The club's present boathouse was built in 1905 and is central to its published history. Club histories also record repeated volunteer-led rebuilding and maintenance of the facilities and fleet, with the current building remaining the club's base.

WARC reports about 200 members, around 130 of whom compete, and more than 50 people completing Learn to Row each year. Its beginner program runs for five sessions over two weeks during the October-to-March period.

Rowing pathways include club-level C and D grade squads, Tier 2 competition, high performance, juniors, social summer rowing and links to the WAIS pathway. The club presents these as separate routes for different ages, experience and ambitions.

At the 2025 Western Australian State Championships, WARC won seven gold medals and 17 medals overall, including the Ann Tamigi Trophy for the women's eight. The club has also described itself as host of the annual Lord Mayor's Cup regatta in the Perth central business district.
