About this club

Lee Valley Rowing Club is based at the National Rowing and Community Resource Centre in Farran Woods, Ovens, County Cork. The centre sits on Inniscarra Lake and Rowing Ireland lists Lee Valley as a river club.

The club was established in 1999 as the home club at the centre. Its formation followed the Irish Amateur Rowing Union's decision to build the National Rowing Centre on Inniscarra Lake.

Lee Valley provides rowing for the wider Mid-Cork community and supports the National Rowing Centre. It caters for competitive rowers and people who row for leisure.

Club crews have won at Irish and overseas regattas. Lee Valley reports eight Irish Championship titles and a world masters champion in 2019.

Twelve members have represented Ireland, including three juniors in the four years covered by the club's account. Three current coaches had also rowed for Irish teams.

Lee Valley is one of the constituent clubs behind Cork Head of the River, alongside Cork Boat Club, Lee Rowing Club, Presentation Brothers College, Shandon Boat Club and UCC Rowing Club.
