About this club
Rosscarbery Rowing Club is a coastal rowing club in Rosscarbery, County Cork. It competes at West Cork regattas and at the Irish coastal championships, with crews appearing in fixed-seat sweep and offshore sculling events.
The club has a strong underage programme in published results. At the 2022 Cork county finals it won the under-12, under-14 and under-16 women's categories, together with three silver and two bronze medals.
At the 2022 Irish Coastal Championships, Rosscarbery won the under-14 women's and junior men's races and finished second in the under-12 women's event. A Rosscarbery men's single also raced at the 2021 World Rowing Coastal Championships.
Rosscarbery hosted the 2023 Irish Coastal Rowing Championships at the National Rowing Centre. More than 300 crews contested 46 races across 40 categories over two days.
The host club won the senior mixed, men's intermediate and women's intermediate races, then added the timber-yawl men's title. Its men's intermediate four is also recorded as the winner in Rowing Ireland's official results.
The club remains active in both junior and open sculling. Rosscarbery athletes were invited to 2026 beach-sprint open trials, and Gabrielle O'Donoghue placed third in the women's open single and in a composite open double at the 2026 Swift Racing Coastal Senior Championships.
