Auckland Grammar Rowing Club is the rowing programme of Auckland Grammar School, with its own rowing club in Panmure, Auckland, and major regattas raced at Lake Karapiro. Rowing was first introduced to the school in 1952.
The club has around 65 to 75 boys from all year levels, with novices mentored by senior students. A Learn to Row programme runs from Term 1 to Term 3, starting with land training once a week and moving to water sessions on Sundays, before trials for the rowing team in Term 3.
Selected rowers start the season in Term 3 and race through Term 4 and Term 1, finishing in late March. Training includes three to four on-the-water sessions a week, before school and at weekends, plus gym and erg work. The season includes two training camps of five to seven days and more than five major regattas at Lake Karapiro.
In the 2020/2021 season the club recorded its best results, with seven crews winning gold at the North Island Secondary Schools Championships.
