Carmel College rowing trains with North Shore Rowing Club, whose clubrooms are on Northcote Road in Takapuna and whose learn to row sessions take place on Lake Pupuke.
The college runs an eight-week Learn to Row programme at North Shore Rowing Club for Year 10 and Year 11 students, with after-school sessions finishing at about 5pm. No previous rowing experience is needed.
Crews race through the secondary schools regatta season, including the Head of Harbour Regatta, the Auckland Championships and the North Island Secondary Schools' Rowing Championships on Lake Karapiro. Carmel rowers racing with North Shore Rowing Club won bronze at the North Island Rowing Championships at Karapiro in January 2026. At the 2026 North Island Secondary Schools' Championships Carmel reached the A finals in the novice eight and novice quad, with two crews in the coxed four B finals.
