About this club
Auckland University Boat Club is the student rowing club of the University of Auckland. It races at New Zealand university regattas, and in Semester 2 it meets other North Island universities in the Battle of the Bombays on the Waikato River.
Training runs from the first week of Semester 1 up to the New Zealand Universities Rowing Championships, the club's main event, held over Easter weekend each year at a changing venue. The club takes rowers of every level, from people who have never rowed to experienced athletes, with novice, tournament, varsity and championship categories.
The club manages the University of Auckland team at the championships together with University of Auckland Sport. The university placed 4th in 2021, 5th in 2022, 7th in 2023, 2nd in 2024 and 3rd in 2025.
