The Macleans College rowing squad comes from Bucklands Beach in Auckland, and its crews race at regattas on Lake Karapiro. In 2023 the school raced as part of St George's Rowing Club for club competitions.
Rowing runs in Terms 1 and 4, with the coach generally arranging four or more sessions a week. Both boys and girls row for the school.
At the 2025 North Island Secondary Schools Championships on Lake Karapiro, Macleans crews reached nine A finals, eight B finals and five C finals. They won bronze in the under 18 double sculls, the under 18 coxed quad and the under 15 double sculls.
At the 2025 AON Junior Regatta, which is also part of the Auckland Secondary Schools Championships, the squad made 13 A finals and won five gold, five silver and four bronze medals.
