Row HQ for USRowing-Affiliated Programs
Row HQ is built for USRowing-affiliated programs. Member records hold USRowing affiliation status, water-safety certifications, and athlete eligibility data - alongside the shell reservations, lineup builder, and scheduling tools your program uses daily.
What does "USRowing integration" mean in practice?
USRowing does not publish a public API for external software to read or write membership data automatically. What Row HQ does is give your program administrators a dedicated place to record and verify each athlete's USRowing membership status, membership number, water-safety certifications (Safesport, First Aid/CPR), and regatta eligibility - so that information lives in the same system as shell reservations, lineups, and practice schedules. Coaches can check eligibility before submitting HOCR or IRA entries and export structured reports aligned with USRowing administrative requirements. Automated federation data sync is on the roadmap; it requires USRowing or RegattaCentral to open a partner API.
What Row HQ does now for USRowing-affiliated programs
The following features are live and in use by USRowing-affiliated programs today.
USRowing membership status fields
Each athlete record holds USRowing membership type (athlete, coach, official), membership number, and renewal date. Admins filter the roster by status and export lapsed-membership reports for renewal campaigns.
Water-safety and compliance certifications
Store Safesport completion date, First Aid/CPR certification date, swim-test date, and any additional certifications per athlete. The system flags athletes with expired credentials before they can be added to a lineup.
Regatta eligibility checks
Before submitting a Head of the Charles or IRA entry, coaches run an eligibility check covering USRowing membership status, age-group eligibility, and lightweight weigh-in requirements. Ineligible athletes are highlighted automatically.
Regatta and event management
Build events for HOCR, IRA, EARC, and club regattas. Manage crew sheets, dues collection, and waitlists in one place. Lineup sheets export to the format required for official submission.
Title IX participation reporting
The admin dashboard tracks athlete roster by gender, practice attendance, and scholarship-equivalency data. Athletic directors can export a participation report formatted for Title IX filings and NCAA compliance reviews.
Renewal and certification reminders
Automated email and in-app reminders notify athletes whose USRowing membership or Safesport certification is approaching expiry. Athletes renew directly with USRowing; the program admin marks their record current in Row HQ.
Planned federation integrations (roadmap)
The following are on the roadmap and require USRowing, RegattaCentral, or third-party partners to open API access. We are transparent about what is not built yet.
USRowing membership API sync
Roadmap - pending USRowing APIDirect read from USRowing so athlete membership status updates automatically without manual entry. Requires USRowing to publish a partner API - not available as of May 2026.
RegattaCentral entry submission
Roadmap - pending RC APISubmitting regatta entries directly from Row HQ into RegattaCentral. Currently the system helps prepare lineups and check eligibility; submission still happens in RegattaCentral itself. Partner API not yet available.
Concept2 Logbook API integration
RoadmapImporting Concept2 erg results from the Logbook API to populate athlete performance records inside Row HQ. Concept2 Logbook has a public API; integration is planned for a future release.
NCAA eligibility reporting
RoadmapStructured export for NCAA Division I/II/III eligibility certification - squad hours, GPA tracking linkage, and participation logs. Requires confirmed format from compliance officers at target programs.
How Row HQ compares to iCrew and Boathouse Connect for US programs
The main alternatives to Row HQ for US programs are iCrew (deep USRowing integration, HOCR/IRA focus) and Boathouse Connect (published pricing, lightweight feature set). A neutral comparison of all options is on the rowing club software comparison page.

Questions from USRowing-affiliated programs
Does Row HQ directly connect to USRowing membership records?
Not yet. USRowing does not publish a public API for external software. Row HQ gives you structured fields to record and report on USRowing membership data, but sync is manual until USRowing opens API access. We will update this page when that changes.
Can I submit regatta entries from Row HQ into RegattaCentral?
Not directly - RegattaCentral does not publish an entry-submission API. Row HQ helps you build your lineups, run eligibility checks, and export lineup sheets. The actual RegattaCentral submission still happens in RegattaCentral.
Does Row HQ handle Safesport tracking for my entire program?
Yes. Each athlete and coach record has a Safesport completion date and expiry field. The system surfaces everyone whose Safesport is expired or within the reminder window. Coaches cannot be rostered on a lineup if their Safesport is lapsed.
We have varsity, JV, novice, and lightweight squads - does Row HQ handle that?
Yes. Multi-squad programs are a primary use case. Each squad has its own roster, schedule, and shell reservation permissions. Athletes can appear in multiple squads (e.g. a varsity-eight rower who also sculls in the double).
Can we collect student dues through Row HQ?
Yes. Stripe-based dues collection is built in, with per-squad fee structures, scholarship-reduction codes, and late-payment reminders. Athletic department billing and invoice-based flows are also supported.
