About this club

Four Bridges Rowing Club rows on the Saint John (Wolastoq) River from the Grand Falls marina in New Brunswick. Its current street address is 499 McCormick Street, with a separate Grand Falls post-office box for mail.

Rowing enthusiasts established the club in Fredericton in 2019. Its name recalls the four bridges that once crossed the Saint John River there, of which the club says three remain. The organisation officially relocated to Grand Falls in April 2024.

The first Grand Falls rowing programmes began in summer 2025. Shells donated by Guelph Rowing Club and Toronto's Argonaut Rowing Club supplied the boats for that launch.

The club's mission is to provide challenging, enjoyable programmes, with a particular focus on helping young athletes develop proficiency and work towards competition and fitness goals. It describes its approach as long-term athlete development in an encouraging and respectful setting.

Its 2026 learn-to-row course comprises eight lessons covering safety, technique and boat handling, with no previous experience required. Lessons use a four-person shell, accept participants aged 15 and over, and lead into a novice programme where rowers develop sculling, fitness and boat-handling skills with a qualified coach.

Recreational membership is open to learn-to-row graduates and experienced rowers, using singles, doubles and fours from mid-May to mid-October when conditions permit. An official visitor policy also allows experienced members of other clubs to arrange guest rows in club equipment.
