About this club
Lunenburg Yacht Club Rowing is the yacht club's coastal rowing programme on Mahone Bay. Row Nova Scotia lists the rowing organisation at 734 Hermans Island Road in Lunenburg.
The programme opened in 2013 as an extension of Lunenburg Yacht Club and became Row Nova Scotia's newest club at the time. This documented start supports a rowing-programme founding year separate from the older parent yacht club.
The fleet includes single and double coastal sculls selected for salt-water rowing. The normal rowing season runs from early June into October, subject to conditions on Mahone Bay.
Masters and intermediate rowers have scheduled recreational outings during weekday mornings and evenings and at weekends. Learn-to-row brings in newcomers, while junior and masters programmes are also identified by the provincial association.
The club welcomes visiting rowers and organises special rows and regattas. It also publishes one-day coastal tours that include use of boats, on-water safety support and lunch.
Rowing Canada Aviron includes Lunenburg Yacht Club in its coastal rowing directory. The record is therefore retained as a genuine rowing organisation, with its canonical name expanded to distinguish the rowing programme from the parent yacht club.
