About this club

Club d’aviron de Montréal, also known as Montreal Rowing Club, is a non-profit organisation at the Olympic Basin on Île Notre-Dame in Parc Jean-Drapeau. The club is governed by a volunteer board and promotes rowing across the Greater Montreal area.

The organisation was founded in 1987. Its own site says it has been a presence at the Olympic Basin for almost 40 years, building a community that includes both younger and older rowers.

Current pathways include juniors, competitive rowing, masters and recreational rowing, and learn-to-row courses. The club's 2026 registration system separately lists introductory classes and its main seasonal programmes.

The competitive group races nationally and internationally each year, according to the club.

Montreal Rowing Club hosted the 2025 Eastern Rowing Association Regatta at the basin. That Rowing Canada Aviron and Quebec-sanctioned meeting recorded 447 entries from 28 clubs.

The club is hosting the ERA Championships again in July 2026. The event programme includes junior, open and masters categories and coincides with the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.
