About this club
Club d’aviron Waterloo is based at 15 Rue du Lac in Waterloo, Quebec. The club's own history says it was founded in 2015 by local rowing enthusiasts and has since attracted participants from across the region.
New rowers must complete an introductory programme before joining as members. Adult beginners receive theory and three sessions in doubles or quadruple sculls, while junior beginners can take up to six sessions and progress to a single scull.
The main membership is divided between autonomous under-23 and masters rowers, and junior categories from under-15 through under-21. Both groups publish regular Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday outings during the April to October on-water season.
Waterloo maintains an active racing calendar. Its official 2026 schedule includes the Défi du canal de Lachine, CSSRA Championships, Tête de rivière des Nations, Laval 500, Eastern Rowing Association Regatta, Royal Canadian Henley Masters, Head of the Rideau, Head of the Trent and Contre-Courant.
The club has documented recent participation at Head of the Rideau, Contre-Courant, the Alma regatta and a Saratoga trip. A 2026 C.R.A.S.H.-B entry also lists a Waterloo athlete and coach in the international indoor event.
Waterloo hosted the 2026 Quebec Indoor Rowing Championships at La Taule. The Quebec-sanctioned event was expected to draw 60 to 90 competitors in under-15 through senior categories over 500, 1,000 and 2,000 metres.
