About this club
Salmon Arm Rowing Club is a non-profit, society-run rowing club based at Canoe Beach on Shuswap Lake in Salmon Arm. Its first-party site gives the club’s address as 7721 36 Street NE.
The club was created in 2025 when Shuswap Rowing and Paddling Club formally separated into two organisations: Salmon Arm Rowing Club and Shuswap Paddling Club. Salmon Arm council supported formation of the new rowing society and its registration with Rowing Canada and Rowing BC in March 2025.
City staff subsequently recommended updating the shared Canoe Beach occupation licence to name both new organisations. The two clubs established a memorandum of understanding setting out their responsibilities at the site.
Salmon Arm Rowing Club states that athletes of different abilities can participate in a supportive and competitive setting. The organisation is raising funds for a junior race-team inclusion programme, safety equipment and racing equipment.
Rowing Canada approved Salmon Arm as a new member club at its March 2025 board meeting. This confirms that the old combined record should be corrected to the current rowing organisation rather than removed from the directory.
