About this club
Canadian Rockies Rowing Club is a new rowing organisation based in Banff National Park, with its on-water activity centred on Lake Minnewanka. The club's launch page describes the setting as the home for its planned rowing activities.
Rowing Canada Aviron's July 2025 president's report records the board's approval of the club as a probationary member. The same report places it in Banff National Park and identifies it as a member of the Alberta Rowing Association.
The club says its vision is to build a community interested in all disciplines of rowing. Its published introduction specifically identifies coastal, sprint and indoor rowing while noting that membership, programme and location details were still being developed.
Banff Jasper Collection by Pursuit provided in-kind and financial backing for the launch and, according to the club, gave the organisation a home for its activities. The Rotary Club of Canmore separately lists a $3,000 grant for the club's Come Try It Rockies Rowing project.
The club appeared on Rowing Canada Aviron's 2026 National Come Try Rowing Day schedule with an activity at Elevation Place in Canmore. It also had an athlete entered under its name at the 2026 Alberta Indoor Rowing Championships.
