About this club
Leduc Boat Club is a multi-sport water club on the south shore of Telford Lake. Its rowing base is listed at 4801 44 Street in Leduc.
The organisation began in 2004 as the Telford Lake Alberta Training Centre Society while Leduc prepared for the 2005 World Masters Games. Its history records the addition of dragon boat and outrigger canoe activity in 2008 and completion of a new boathouse in 2019.
Rowing programmes serve youth and adults, and the club conducts school outreach. The programme is based around both participation and training rather than a single event or venue listing.
Telford Lake has a fully buoyed 2,000-metre course. Alberta Rowing describes it as the only course of that kind in Western Canada.
The venue hosted rowing at the 2005 World Masters Games and has also hosted the Western Canadian University Rowing Championships. The City of Leduc continues to list the club, its programmes and its role in local water sport.
The club's current multi-sport identity grew from the rowing training-centre project but remains a real rowing organisation. Its official history and Alberta Rowing profile both connect the current club directly to the 2004 foundation.
