About this club
Guelph Rowing Club rows at Guelph Lake Conservation Area in Guelph/Eramosa. The club describes the lake as calm, while Row Ontario notes that conservation-area rules restrict motorised craft apart from low-powered boats and rowing coach boats.
The club was established in 1999. Row Ontario identifies landscape architect Walter Kehm as a founding figure and records that the organisation developed around access to Guelph Lake.
Its youth offer includes Junior Gryphon learn-to-row for ages 11 to 17 and a high-school introduction programme. Adult learn-to-row, recreational junior and adult rowing, and competitive programmes for under-17, under-19, under-23, masters and university athletes are also listed.
The University of Guelph programme trains through the club, alongside high-school, masters and recreational members. The club says it supplies structured programmes, coaching and equipment through a volunteer community organisation.
The 2023 season included the Guelph Invitational, a learn-to-row regatta, the Mayhem interclub event and a Moonlight Row. That year the club also reported national selection for Meghan and Stephen Harris and participation at the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association championships.
