About this club

Notre Dame Rowing Club is a community and school-linked club at 108 Thorold Road in Welland. It rows from the Welland Community Boathouse on the Welland Recreational Canal.

The club was founded in 2010 by Matt TenDon, Terry Pelette, Dave Andrews and Brian Chivers. Row Ontario records its development from an association with Notre Dame College School into a wider club programme.

The current club offers learn-to-row, youth development, recreational rowing and competition. Its stated age range runs from young participants through adult members rather than limiting the programme to school pupils.

The Welland canal base supports training and racing, and the club uses the community boathouse as its home. Membership and programme information is published through the active Notre Dame site.

Row Ontario's profile names Lucas Maroney, Madeson Scott and Stella Bittman among athletes with podium finishes at Row Ontario, CSSRA and Canada Games competition. These named results provide a specific competitive record for the club.

Notre Dame has also been associated with the Head of the Niagara and Wright regatta programme. The combination of school development, community learn-to-row and sanctioned racing supports its identity as a full rowing club.
