About this club
Wellington Sculling Club is a small adult rowing club at the east end of Guelph Lake in Guelph/Eramosa, Ontario. The club gives its water access as 5422 Jones Baseline and describes its sessions as intentionally small, with personal attention and a familiar group of members.
The club focuses on sculling, in which each rower uses two oars. Its published fleet comprises singles, doubles and a quad, allowing members to row alone or with others. New, returning and experienced scullers are all covered by the club's stated offer.
Its adult Learn to Row programme combines on-water and off-water teaching with sculling mechanics, water safety and safe-sport policies. Graduates are invited to join for the rest of the season, while a separate Return to Row route lets previous rowers arrange an appropriate reintroduction before becoming members.
Members can attend four scheduled group rows each week, arrange rows at other times with fellow members, or go out individually. The published group schedule uses Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Row Ontario currently lists Wellington Sculling Club as a Guelph member organisation. In a provincial report on the Hogtown Heats, Wellington was one of five represented clubs and won one gold medal in the 750 m sprint regatta.
