Why pacing wins or loses a 2k

A 2k lives in the worst part of the physiological map. Too long to bash through on power alone. Too short to hide behind aerobic base. Step-by-step: first 500, middle 1k, final 500

Treat a good 2k as three separate efforts welded together. Start. Body. Sprint. Each one gets a split target, a rate target, and a feel cue you can write on a piece of masking tape and stick to the monitor.
