About this club

Havergal Rowing Club is Havergal College's competitive school rowing programme in Toronto. Rowing Canada Aviron uses the club affiliation 'Havergal Rowing Club' for alumna Megan Stellato, supporting the stored club identity rather than treating it as a standalone school listing.

The programme began in 1981 at Argonaut Rowing Club. In its first season, the Browne sisters won the Toronto high-school double and the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association title in that event.

Havergal moved to Hanlan Boat Club in 1988 and expanded its fleet over the following years. The school created a rowing endowment in 2017, and its 2022 history estimated that about 400 athletes had passed through the programme over four decades.

The programme races at school and club regattas, including CSSRA and the Head of the Charles. Havergal first attended the Head of the Charles in 2017, and its 2022 crew placed 28th in a field of 90.

During the 2021-22 school year, Havergal reported five podium finishes and 24 medallists. It had also won the CSSRA women's overall points trophy five times by the publication of that history.

The spring 2025 season produced more than 20 medals across three regattas. CSSRA results included first place in the junior 63-kilogram eight, second in the junior 63-kilogram four and third in the senior women's pair.
